10 REASONS TO RIDE A BIKE

1. Health – Riding a bike provides a simple and effective means of getting the daily physical activity needed for basic health. Use of a bicycle for transportation makes this an easy part of your daily routine.
2. Cost – Biking is an inexpensive form of transportation and recreation. The savings when compared to driving are enormous, and can you think of a greater cost to fun ratio?
3. Accessibility – Bikes and places to ride them are accessible to all, young and old, rich and poor.
4. Environmentally sustainable – Cycling is non-polluting, relatively low manufacturing impact, and non-disposable (unless it’s a box store bike).
5. Stress Relief – Biking is an effective way to relieve stress and get away from the hustle and bustle.
6. Social – Cycling with family and friends is a great way to spend time with people. It lends to conversation, camaraderie, and common experience.
7. Fitness – Over and above basic health, cycling is a low impact, high cardio-vascular activity that can be used to achieve high levels of fitness.
8. Efficiency – Many studies have shown that a bicycle multiplies human efficiency of movement so much as to make him the most efficient creature on earth.
9. Culture – Bicycles have been associated with or at the centre of every positive social/cultural revolution in society since their invention. Coincidence?
10. Fun – And yes, biking is just plain fun!
